Default What do I need to datalog and tune this ---- myself?

I"m interested in tuning as a hobby. But what do I need besides the datalogging kit from xenocron, a chip burner and a wideband?

What is a good (cheaper) wideband to get?

Thanks guys!

its a good idea to get a cheaper laptop, really helps being mobile like that.

If you are going to be tuning more than one car...I recommend and Ostrich as well. The whole chip burning thing is plaid, especially with RTP in a Honda ECU.

But yeah you need to be able to datalog, a laptop to monitor and receive the datalog info and a wideband to read your Air Fuel. Then you can just do basic street tunes.

VEMS groups is supposed to be selling a complete WB controller/sensor/display assembly for $199 shortly. I'd steer my bucks that way, those are some very talented guys.

Feel free to roll on up if you want pointers - I'll drive your CRX while you sit bitch with the laptop

Got any links or anything to the VEMS group?

I will most likely be coming up for some pointers on how to get this done. I may even let ya drive the crx while I toy around with it a bit

Do I get to drive yours when its done?

http://www.vems-group.org/

They mention it on the products page, but don't list price/details. It's literally waiting in the wings...

As for driving my CRX

You do realize the only person who's ever driven it and not wrecked it - the dirty **** has been wrecked seven times I know of - is Atlee? And when I say wrecked, I mean folded up suspension or wadded up front end. It's really amazing the car still goes into alignment. The frame is unbent, but I've been through three rear crossmembers where LCA mounts have crinked or sheared half off. Three pair of 90-91 EX front spindles, seven LCAs. Two hoods. The bumper I just stomp on until it pops back into place (love that "memory" plastic). There's a reason the front end is sawzalled and the hood retained with hood pins - that ---- wouldn't line up any other way.
