Default want to change my SMC to a turboedit Chip.

Hi,

I already have my car(D16y7 with Pm6 ECU) boosted at 5psi with a IHI-RHB5 and with an SMC.

I like the SMC but i think the turboEdit chip will be better.

I already download the turboEdit program and i have some question.

1: I would like to run 10 psi at the next summer, and i thinks it's border line. So it is possible to change the setting in turboEdit to be able to go uper than 10psi? If so how can i do it

2: It is possible to have the boost controled by the ECU I see something about the boost controller in uberdata. If not it's not bad, i will buy a manuel boost controller.

3: if i start with a N/A bin, how can i know at what RPM to begin to increase the fuel, and how much can i increase it

Thanks a lot for your answers, and sorry if you have trouble to understand my english. It's not my primary language

No. It's a limitation current in the interpolation routine. It owuld have to be rewritten to process the values differently.

Yes. The membes of PGMFI have written ECU controlled boost ROMs. There are currently two supported methods, one brand new and being tested and, one functional and being used currently.

You can setup your ECU with a serial converter and use TE's Map Trace datalogger to know exactly where your ECU is reading from, thus, being able to tune the parts of the map that your car reads.

Wait, did I just learn that I won't be able to boost more than 10psi with turbo edit? NNNNOOOOOOO!
What do I do when I want more than that? oh man, say it ain't so.

Ya, the 10psi a limit of the current routine, but, if you were to change MAP sensors, yes, theoretically, you can run higher boost levels. However, on your fuel/ignition maps, you would still retain the 15x17 area.

Now, with Blundar's new boost ROM (which seems to be rockin'!! I'll get to test it tonight..) you have higher resolution. He provides us with a 15x17 map for vacuum and boost. So using a 2bar map would scale that down a bit.

Long story short, yes, you can run higher than 10psi. Will TurboEDIT support an easy view of the maps for you? Maybe. It hasn't been decided yet. Right now, there are a few other priorities in front of that.. but.. it is on the table.

I don't think you're understanding.

Yes, an editor can help you run tunes for a 2bar MAP, but you don't need the editor to support 2bar. You just have to scale your maps on your own. Ignore the pressure values at the top of the grid.

No, Ghettodyne does not support larger MAP sensors.
