UBERDATA HELP (SOLVED)
ok i just got my ecu back from projekteg. I put it in and when i start the car it jumps to 2000 Rpm and will stay there for about 3-5 seconds. Then it will drop under 1 and then die. So i stuck my missing link back in and it ran better the idle was a little above one til it became warm. The thing is i shouldnt have to run the missing link witha chipped ecu. Why does it run better with the missing link in? PLease help

Re:UBERDATA HELP
IACV problems...?
Although, still very weird. Missing link should have no affect on anything in the vacuum ranges. Did you search on the Uberdata forums at all for any similar symptoms??? http://www.ecimulti.org/uberdata/forum |
Re:UBERDATA HELP
curious as to how much vacuum you are pulling at idle. With both the missing link on and off?

Re:UBERDATA HELP
just sitting here thinking. didn't you have an afc hooked up? did you unhook it? if so, how? did you unwire it from your harness and put your harness wires back to stock? or did you just unplug the afc from the subharness? or, is it still hooked up and your settings aren't set back to 0?

Re:UBERDATA HELP
well i had some problems getting to school. I had to bring it home and park it. The car would not accelerate at all. something is messed up. In the morning it started and idled fine then when it warmed up it started jumping from about 1 to above 2 rpms and running like ----. i couldnt drive it. My brother came home on lunch to look at it and there are no check engine lights and the iacv or w/e was testing out to be good. vacuum with the car started with the missing link was like 16-18 i believe if i read it right. We are going to try to fix it when he gets off work. Could the ecu be screwed?

Re:UBERDATA HELP (updated)
The IAC wont make it die, just high idle if it goes bad. Is this tuned? How do you know its getting enough/too much fuel? Maybe try reburning the chip. Have you looked at the spark plugs?
|
Re:UBERDATA HELP (updated)
projekteg just chipped my ecu with a basemap. He also told me to buy ngk spark plugs and gap them at .28 so idk what to do. if i have to ship my ecu back ill be pissed. He said it worked in his car so idk whats going on.

Re:UBERDATA HELP (updated)
I'm sure its fine. It may just be the chip.

Re:UBERDATA HELP (updated)
Get yourself a cheap burner

Re:UBERDATA HELP (updated)
91hbvtec is my brother and i have been doing all the work on his car. When the computer came back i unwired the safc i spliced the map sensor wire that needs to be cut to use the afc back together and i completly removed all the wiring associated with it. I went back through and rechecked all the sensors on the car including the iacv. All the sensors were within the specifications. I removed the iacv and checked to make sure that it was clean and working correctly. Finally i got the stock ecu from my 95 civic ex and swapped it into my brothers car. I know it would throw a cel if it went under boost, but i just wanted to see if it would at least idle. With my ecu in his car it idled nice and smooth. It was a little rich which is to be expected because of the 450cc injectors. So it leds me to belive that the chip that was installed in the ecu is not correct.

Re:UBERDATA HELP (updated)

All you guys that are buying chips and ---- really need to invest in a burner. You can find them on Egay for like $45. It's a small price to pay to be able to change settings. It is still a "basemap" no matter how many times you send the chip back and forth. You really need to tune it according. :-\ __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |

Well put Sir Boost ;)

Re:UBERDATA HELP (updated)
pm me your info again and we'll try another map. when i 'test' an ecu, i plug the ecu in to my car with a chip for my engine and injectors, to make sure it runs the car fine, then, i make your chip, put it in the ecu and plug the ecu in and turn the ign. to 'acc' to make sure there are no cel's, i don't actually start the car b/c i have a totally different set up/injectors. the ecu is good, and the chip is good, i guess your car just doesn't like the map :P i'll see what i can do with another map, but this is the same base map i use on all similar set ups with no problems, but we can try again. but yes, your car should at least idle fine and be drivable, may not run that great b/c like boost said, it is just a basemap and it will not run like stock, but it should be drivable.

Re:UBERDATA HELP (updated)
Kevin I would be making these kids buy burners.

Re:UBERDATA HELP (SOLVED)
just another shot in the dark here, but have you checked your timing? my buddy had an afc and converted to uberdata, he had his timing set from when he had the afc in, i told him to set it back to stock, but he did that before he '0'd out his afc settings, so his timing was still really retarded. we were having the same problems as you, the car would not idle and sputtered like crazy, we couldn't figure it out, finally, he got pissed and just turned his dizzy advacning (really going back towards stock), and the car ran perfect :P
|
Re:UBERDATA HELP (SOLVED)
i set my timing back to stock and my car runs great.
i see that it says solved at the top, what was the prob? chip or timing? |
