you have to download crome, then when you open the program, it will give you an option to 'register', just click that and it will take you to a pay pal link to pay and register it.

Clone's manner of lambda logging is inferior, or something is up with the code. I get lots of erroneous AFRs, and the AFRs change in a junk manner. UD I can nail the AFR without a problem.

aside from a couple of bugs in each, i don' see much difference.

really? i've notice FAR less bugs in crome pro (1.1.6 or what the ---- ever) than i have in even the most stable version of uber, including lambda logging.

JD, Blundar, Crome, Uberdata, etc...............

mix-n-match, learn the process, tune around.

From my limited dealings Crome + LMA-1 has worked well.

Really as a newbie looking inward, come down to what the tuner is used too!!!!!!!

As far as Ubercrap:

I heard lots and lots of bitching and moaning about cold startup AFRs being super rich, and variable AFRs across the board. When you take five minutes to adjust more that the four cells your car idles at *once warmed* you might be surprised what you get. Trav-***'s RC 1100's idled at 13.5:1 when cold, sat at a flat 15:1 once up to temp. You pull a little more vacuum, typically, when cold due to the thermodynamics of the system, and hot sassy FITV action. Tune those cells, boys!

Cold idle fucktuations are purge solenoid errors. Pls to be disabling this!

JDM ECUs are no nos. Somewhere between losing injector test PA etc misc circuitry it conflicts with P72-based code, things get janky. Who wants to run substandard JDM crap, anyway? It's homosexual.

What other flaws do you see?

Clone:

Seems pretty stable and full featured. I've been of an opinion for some time that johncui polishes that ---- until it gleams.

I do have, however, annoying problems nailling AFRs. I can set TPS logging to 5% and above, or greater, and still have a streamer of rich AFRs running across good logs when you let off the throttle. I can hold + maintain a steady state load and the AFRs creep. Huh? Erroneous blips of false AFRs occur out of the blue for unknown reasons. Nothing I can't deal with. I could very well be getting RF interference with some of my birdsnest of equipment. I have been using of late a virgin wideband sensor, and just bought another virgin controller - but I doubt that is a problem. I'm not operating in a lab environ, so it'll take a bit to hash things out FER SURE whether it's Clone or my setup.

i have only see how to disable it with the p30 and p28.
please share. i will give you an apple jolly rancher.

or can you just unplug the damn thing and even need to change anything in the rom?

edit: nevermind, just got off my lazy *** and did it

OMG!!! Yes disable physically - only current code hack to disable purge solenoid in UD requires smashing ECU with large hammer. Best left to experts like me!

PS - pls to not be offering me sour apple jolly ranchers. That is Joey's method of picking up the women (you know - the sexy ppl with boobies). You want to make a woman's first reaction to you be a smile, and you want to first words out of her mouth to be "YES!!." It sets a precedent, which leads to pleasureable things (involving the aforementioned boobies). Simply offer her a sour apple jolly rancher, or failing that the watermelon.

Wierd dude. With 1.1.6 or whatever was new last week, I get freakin prefect Lambda trace. This is with TPS set to 1%. I do have to change the lambda offset everytime I put all my ---- into someone elses car, but thats to be expected. All in all, I get absolutley no errant readings, bar repeatedly mashing the gas pedal.
Also, I believe you 100% that you got that 1100cc injectored car to cold idle at 13's A/F and low 15's hot, but I for the life of me could not do it. It was either high 11's cold/mid 14's hot or low 13's cold/high 15's and lean misfiring hot. This was on 9:1 CR, not very idle friendly in the 15's A/F like a stock or higher CR engine. My entire idle portion of the map was smooth w/o the standard 2 cels tuned for hot idle only.

With that said, I currently prefer CROME because:
-Flawless integration with Osterich.
-Flawless Lambda trace (And I only used to reserve saying that for my old Hdata 2bd)
-Logging/playback of the MAP, interpolated Ign, and Inj. MS, during a WOT run. Although the Inj. MS seems to be reporting .78 too high trying to fool you into believing those 450's are OMFG maxed out at only 10psi on a a standard HMT'd B16.
-The GUI is purdy, and the hotkeys easy to remember and use.
-Ability to directly enter #'s into the map.
-Multiple MAP sensor support w/ the ability to change the min/max values manualy. By shifting the min/max MAP values uniformly when completing boost-tools, you can get your logged MAP readings to sync with your super high quality Autometer boost/vacuum gauge. Or atleast get your 2bar/3bar to read 1012 dead on at KO.
-Change load scalars w/ the engine running. Ok not a big deal, but when dialing in the idle, having two load columns that sync dead on with both hot/cold starts seems to pay off IMHO. And the fact that you can do it with the car running for speedy idle tuning.
-base mapping features get you much closer to the final tune in the vacuum portion of the map. IMHO of course, I really never used them much in Uber, but the times that I did, the high vacuum side of the map was way off. Also of note, entering 130% eff. when using the boost fueling adjustment is advisable over the standard 120%. In my exp, atleast.

My CROME annoyances:
-No IACV induced high idle when cold like Uber. I ASSume this is due to the fact that my car has no thermo-fast-idle valve thingy. I have noticed the same on other cars with out the FIV as well. I also ASSume this is due to the code diff. in p30 vs P74. JD, please correct me if Im wrong.
-Idle surges when IM is heat soaked. Has been repeatable on several diff. cars. Uber is ------- solid. After reading up on PGMFI following your purge solenoid comment , I have a few things to try out before laying blame on CROME.

Yes I paid for the Pro-Version. If I didnt, I would be using Uber based soley on the fact that you can map trace, and Uber sounds cooler that CROME.

PS, if your car does not have VTP wired in correctly, use Uber unless you wanna hang out on the high cam maps permanently after the first time you cross-over and until you cylce K-off/on, haha.
