so then would cam timing be unrelated to ignition timing? for example if i retarded timing at the distributor or with a cam gear, 3 degrees. would i be able to run less ignition retard or are they both unrelated and i'm not making sense?

 

changing your timing physically just changes your base timing
so the whole map is lower by wtv u set it
