Why can't we use the igniter output from the ECU?

i tried that but the rpm display was showing at idel like 350 rpm where the stock tach was around 850 i compare the stock tach with a inductive pick up tool that messures rpm from MAC Tools and it was 850 so i know that the stock tach is accurate .

then when i rev the engine as soon as it hit 3000 rpm a littel bit more and the logworks displays all the way to 8000 rpm

also i use this on a 91 civic hatch si
