Re: So, this is obviously a Engine Mangement question.....

whne i was first cnsidering getting a chipped ecu i was kinda scared because of the fact that i didn't know much about it. but like you have learned with a little research and reading its realy not all that complicated. just get a chipped ecu and a good basemap and your car will run way better then it does on the hack (i know you already sold it). crome is the best choice for EM in my opinion because there are so many more tuners for it and the cost. my last car i think i paid 100 for a good street tune. and if you dont have the money to get it tuned right away just rock the basemap on a lower boost til then. you can normally find a similar setup liek yours and use that tune til you get tuned. i know every motor is different but it usually runs better then a basemap. even running a base it will be better then emanage untuned. good luck, try not to blow it. good to see a newb doing his research.

my only reason for giving a real answer is cause you started to come around. if you would have kept on with your emang/hack bullshit you would have gotten flamed hard

I would, get everything you need (hardware) to be able to tune yourself...and then, take it to a local reputable guy that is will to show you what he is doing, when he is doing it. Most guys will give you some tips and show you how to tune a little, if they know they are just showing you how to tune your own car...and not become a competing tuner to them in their area.

Then, from there out you can make changes to your car and learn as you go.

Cant believe no one brought up hondata S300. Its right at the same level as ec tune but if you want to be a dealer you have to pay monthly for ec tune from what Dmc1 claimes. Dave Blundell highly recommends ec tune. He tuned my hondata and said there is really no difference between the two except user ability to adapt from the old school tech such as crome and he was in a law suit with hondata. Im still faithful to my hondata.
