so how much business do you think they are gonna lose because of this? everybody i have talked to about the situation have said that they will never use anything they make again. just wondering if the bad publicity they are giveing themself is worth the monetary gain they might get.

Yes. Since Internet based claims are still fairly new, their is little precedent in these cases... I am not an expert on California law but most of the case studies I have done state that Jurisdiction has to be shown as it isn't a given in most cases

That would be a waste of 113.

OK, enough.

Doug has a right to be pissed, his work was comprimised. It his cash cow. I'm sure anyone else here would feel the same way if your idea was cracked open.

The ISSUE is how Doug is handling it. The INSANE demands that was sent in the C&D letter pretty much set up the fight.

REMEMBER, I was sued by Phantom Grip for my degrogatory comments. I had to goto Lexington KY to give a depostion in front of their lawyers. After all the questioning, the lawyers assuring me they will press ahead with the lawsuit........

......I gave them some info from Tom Fowler @ OPM Motorsports.

The OPM limited-slip is a patented clutch-type custom made limited-slip differential. We start with a stock diff and remove all the gears and shafts to inspect and clean them. Then machining of the case is performed and the clutch packs are fit. The diff is then re-assembled and a spring block is pressed between the spider gears to put pressure on the side gears.
It works extremely well and has a long operation life. We have units in use in Solo, Improved Touring, Rallye, Ice Racing and high-performance street applications.

In comparison, the Quaiffe LSD is a gear-type unit. It is heavier than the OPM unit (like a heavier flywheel) and also has to re-engage if one of the wheels loses contact with the street or racing surface. The Phantom Grip LSD is an incomplete copy of an OPM unit. It has the spring block, but no clutches so it wears out the diff housing. Dollar for dollar, the OPM unit is your best bet.
PATENTED, understand that?

If they choose to sue me for bad mouthing, the would have been admiting to stealing a patent without permission. Then I informed the lawyers that I was ran off the road by their race team on I-71 south of Mid Ohio, crew coming back from Niagra CRX Meet, I had about 20 witnesses.

Funny thing, last tranny I worked on for Dave, when I pulled the OEM diff knowing the tranny had been apart before, it had a POS Phantom Slip.

Re: So Hondata decided to sue me over PGMFI.

NOT SCURRRRRED of all the pissing and octane remarks, kind of childish since this is about another issue....Anyone check out the hondata site lately. It's a year long dispute and somethings were not agreed apon and thats "from my understanding" why Hondata is pushing it though. Business was sold right after the lawsuit began, action was taking against individual that put it up, and they claim the downloader was up for more than a day after I guess a reply was recieved from Blundar about the issue, then the downloader was a hot item cause people ------ the word about it about to be deleted. Bone you have a point also with the differential part. I've seen two fail of P.G's in the twisties.
