I have a 92 civic vx hatch and a p28 ECU that I chipped and running uberdata, was getting a solid CEL and the shift light in the dash stayed on. I had to rewire the O2 sensor to get rid of the CEL but the shift light stays on. Anyone know how to get rid of it and why its there?

 

Remove the bulb.

 

yeah, either remove the bulb or get a new cluster. the shift light on the vx is controlled by the stock ecu, since the stock ecu isn't in there any more, the chipped ecu can't control the shift light. it seems like it would stay off instead of on, but the few vx's that i've tuned did the same thing. i'd get a new cluster if i was you, you know you want a tach anyways

 

Thanks for the info. I do have a tach in mine thougth, I guess I'll just remove the bulb.
