I have little love for those Odyssey batteries. They are a lot heavier than an equivalent-power lead-acid lawn mower battery, and about the same size. And they drain really fast, hook up a laptop and a wideband to the system and leave the engine/alternator off for 5 minutes, the car won't crank. Add in the $$$ pricetag and ---- those things. Even $50-something for the exact same thing in generic brand is a premium.
MISTER PHILL.... what is the amp rating of those 5lb units, and might I obtain one?

yea spinning, but the load on an alternator that is being used is WAY more than just the alternator being an idling pulley
ever used a generator before? noticed belt squeal ONLY when the ac compressor is in use? or how about belt squeal right after startup while the alternator has its highes load trying to recharge the battery from the drain during cranking and sitting before that

Further, my stereo installer probably turned down the gain on my amp because he knows I'm a fat fingered hooligan, so I'm probably getting 75% of what I think I am.
Fixed it for you.
