Default quick question

i've just put together my Eprom programmer 3.3, my first soldering job which wasn't hard (except for the one resistor i put in the wrong place and had to remove). question is this, when using an wall plug for power (on anything i guess) where one wire is black and the other is black with a white stripe... which one is ground and which is power? any ideas? i figure black is ground

Yes I beleive black is the ground also. Doese the assembly manual tell you what colors are which? You might also want to try using some type of vloltage/Ohms meter to measure which one is ground etc. when the plug is in the wall. Not too sure on how to do this safely though... I'm no electrician, so be cautious.

So let me see if i get this.In your wall there is a recepticle where you plug electronic equipment into for power. You wnat to know wich is the ground?Well if it looks like this
neutral> I I <Power
o
^ground^

here you go.If it doesnt have the little circle on the bottom then you dont have a ground.
