BTW, learn to F9 and the Ctrl+J without looking at the keys. It's pretty easy after two or three cars.
I can never get smooth with no look in the dark on laptop keyboards, everythings too tiny.

Thinkpads come with Thinklights, and some of us use our tools enough we don't have to look and hunt for keys.

Don't you buy your tools to be used? Don't you use them?

When I installed Crome 1.2 I had to change my RTP from the default to my Ostrish. It would connect fine in the preferences screen but it wouldn't connect within the actual program to update changes. Kept giving me the "Can't connect" w/e it says when there's no hardware error. So I had to close and reopen for the changes to take effect. Obviously not a big problem to me, but for ppl that don't know software troubleshooting 101, this could drive them insane. I guess it should either work right away w/o restarting Crome or at least have a dialog stating that you need to restart for it to work. I don't know if it's just this newer version that does it but it's the first time it happens to me.

I should prolly post this in PGMFI, but i'm too lazy at the moment. If someone here talks to John, let him know.

That's an OS/driver problem on your end. A friend's Dell has the same problem, my Thinkpad doesn't, both fresh installs.

This is also on a Dell, but I didn't have to restart windows, just Crome. So it seems like a software issue to me.

That little light is what sold me on the thinkpad, haha. The metal case and nipple mouse was a plus as well.

T30 go for what bottom of the line Dell go for. Unlike Dell they are completely indestructable, and will last five times longer. Plus, Trackpoint mouse takes a day to get used to... Try to use a ****** scratchpad in a 404whp CRX with drag springs. Pffft.

I sport the scratchpad AND eraser mouse.

I couldn't pass this Dell up. p3 500mhz, 128mb, 30gig, two batteries (strong life), with the power supply and all that for 200 bucks.
