Default PR3-J51 ECu Questions

I have searched countless forums (including this one)for two days and read a lot of material including the posts by "littlecrxvtec" but I have not been able to find specific information on how to chip this ECU. I have chipped a PR4 successfully so I am capable. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Background:

A friend of mine has an EK with what looks like a OBD0 B16A. The reason I say it's OBD0 is because it runs the said PR3 with no CEL. Plug in a P28 and he gets one. He has a conversion harness but I don't know if its from OBD2-0 or OBD2-1. (He dosen't know). I don't know why anyone would have set it up for OBD0 though. The problem is the speed limiter.

Is it easier to convert to OBD1 or chip the PR3. I have bins, software, and a Moates burner but I don't know if it's the same as chipping the P28 cause the circuit boad looks almost the same with the exception of the additional bord on the PR3.
Anyone care to shed some light on this?

ok. the pr3 came obd0 and obd1 as well.
you stated he ran a pr3 and then plugged in a p28 and tried that. plugs are different, so it sounds like the obd1 pr3.

OBD1 PR3s are much more like the P28/P30 in terms of design and structure, and they use the same circuit board, usually a 02D01720-1500. They are a member of the OBD1 Civic Integra family.
open the case and look at the board number.
good luck

Ok. That number is what's printed on the board. So the chipping procedure is the same as the P28?

right. you can use uberdata.
OBD-1 JDM/EURO (92-95)
PR3 integra XSi/RSi DOHC VTEC (B16A); semi-rare ecu, equivilent to a US P30 ecu [civic delsol Si VTEC (B16A)].
http://pgmfi.org/ and http://ecu.ff-squad.com/i are great.

Oh I didn't check the code. I noticed that his CEL was on when he pulled up. He used that computer so I can chip the PR3. He did say that it didn't go into Vtec though.
