anyone know of any places to get zif type sockets for chipping? looks like moates was affected by hurricane katrina so looking for an alternative for the time being.

digikey sells them....part numbers are in the FAQ in this forum for ZIF sockets and where to get them also...

 

Digikey also has a $25 minimum unless you want to pay a surcharge

 

i buy 50-100bucks of ---- at a time usually... those damn ZIFs add up quick....

 

i just bought 20 from xenocron for cheaper than digikey

 

I just ordered a bunch of these low profile zifs from cascade surpluss electronics. They work just as well as the blue Aries ones that everyone uses, but are only $2.50. Best deal i've found, and you dont have to order in bulk to get it.
