Yeah, but all '82 and newer vehicles have to pass IM240, which is what Jersey does.

If you have a CEL, 99% chance you're gonna fail.

Everyone who has to smog outside cali is way better off. They failed my friend's bone stock '92 MR2 turbo because they couldn't see the O2 sensor. What kind of BS is that.

1) Everyone from Cali, save the HMT members, is a ***

2) The rest of the nation is starting to follow the emissions testing and precedents set by Cali. Jersey's IM240 is based on Cali, and is apparently what CO and others are starting to adhere to.

Actually Colorado is trying to get away from emissions entirley. There is a battle with enviromentalists going on that kinda put the brakes on for a bit. As soon as that is hammered out though no more smog tests for us. They are going to a newer system that they have been testing here for a year that is more acurrate than the current one and will only pick out people on the highway whoes emissions are above a level set constant for every one.

Yes but it won't be soley for a CEL. It would just be failing for something elsewhile the CEL happened to be on.
