opinions on which ECU
I have a 91 crx with a d16y8. I have all the stuff to start my turbo project but I'm now concerned about which ECU to use.I'm using the vafc hack for fuel management. Right now I'm using a pg7 and I don't know whether to continue to use it, go back to the stock ECU, or convert to obd-1. I've had some people telling me I need to go obd-1 but nobody has had a convincing argument. Any opinions?
You can convert to OBD1 and run a P28 and run a few wires from the ECU to the VTEC solenoid. You can also use the PG7 and engage VTEC with the VAFC and tune according, or you could use the PM6 and do the same as you would with the PG7. It would be cheaper to use the ECU you already have and just use the VAFC for VTEC engagement. Converting to OBD1 would be worthless and a waste of money IMO.
