Re: obd-0 dpfi => obd-1 mpfi

Damn, I can't get this car to start..
i have swapped the engine, and done the dpfi to mpfi conversion and the obd-0 to obd-1 conversion. I have checked every wire and it's all fine..
But I get a solid CEL (when i turn the igintion on, the CEL stays on. I have not connected the jumper wire). I have tried three diffrent obd1 ecu's, but that did not help, but if I remove the obd0 to obd1 conversion harness and but in the old obd0 ecu the CEL goes away..

But I have one question..
Is it normal that the fuel injectors have constant earth and gets 12v+ from the ecu? I thought it was the other way around..?

I know, and i have read it, but it did not help me alot..

But i think the reason i get the solid CEL is becouse normal obd0 cars have the CEL on the ecu, but these EDM 92-95 obd0 cars have it in the instrument, just like obd1. And that is why the conversion harness fucks it up..

But i still think it is wierd that the injectors have contstant ground, and gets 12v+ from the ecu. All the work shop manuals I have read say it's the other way around, both on obd0 and obd1. But I can't find any chematics of obd0 DPFI enigines, just obd0 MPFI..

So if anyone have wiering schematics for obd0 DPFI, please let me know..

I thought that there is ground there and current is applied to open the injector?So what happens when you jump the connector?

yeah they have a constnat 12 volt and the ecu grounds them to fire

Do you have a conversion harness for a North American car?How different are Euro harnesses?Do you have a OBD0 mpfi ecu to try?

Re: obd-0 dpfi => obd-1 mpfi

yes, the obd0 -> obd1 conversion harness is for usdm cars..
i think the only differense is that edm 92-95 obd0 cars don't have the CEL on the ecu, you jump a connector and the engine light flashes, just like on obd1 cars..
yes I have a PM7 ECU, but I have not tried it on this car, and I don't se any reson to do that..
