Default obd-0 dpfi => obd-1 mpfi

Hi. I just found out i have to change the engine in a friends car this weekend. I have read alot about this, but right now i am realy confused.

now. the car is a 93 EDM civic EG 1.5 lsi obd-0 (yes they are obd-0) with a d15b2 dpfi engine (everything is stock). The engine that we are putting in to the car is a obd-1 d15b7 mpfi with engine harness and tranmission. The owner also has a obd-0 to obd-1 ecu conversion harness.

but, can i just use the origninal d15b7 obd-1 engine harness and plugg it into the obd-0 car harness, and only work on the obd-0 car harness. Or will i have to use the d15b2 obd-0 harness and do a dpfi to mpfi conversion,with parts from the obd-1 engine harness?

A little confusing what your asking but yes you can swap harness's. It's up to you how you want to do it, it would probably take a half hour just to wire in the extra injectors and dizzy but if you'd rather swap harness's then go for it.

Sounds to me that one harness is obd0 and the other one is obd-1 so he cant just swap the harness. Keep the harness thats for the car then modify that to mpfi then to obd-1.

yes, you are right..

so, I will have to use the obd-0 engine harness, and first do the dpfi to mpfi conversion, and then do the obd-0 to obd-1 conversion.

gues ill have to go and read more about the dpfi to mpfi, and obd-0 to obd-1 conversion then.. Thank you guys..

the EDM 92-95 civic lsi\dxi sedan and HB are obd-0. This is problably becouse they use the old d15b2 engine from the old EF. but they dont use the same wiering colour that older obd-0 cars do. The edm civic coupe lsi, is just the same as the usdm coupe with d15b7. And that is the engine that we are butting in to the 93 civic lsi hb.

so we are increasing the power from 90hp to 101hp yeeahh..lol

obd-1:
we have a 92-95 civic ESI (cupe\hb\sedan) that have the d16z6 engine. and then we have the 92-95 vti sedan and hb (not coupe) that have the b16a2 engine. And then we also have the sucky civic VEi sedan and hb (not coupe) that have the d15z1 engine..
