Default Noob question TE, Launch Control, EF Hatch

Sorry for the noob question.
I've got an 88 hatch with the stock motor running TE. The speedometer is cable driven (I dont know if the car has a VSS or not).

The clutch pedal has no switch. Can I still use launch control somehow?

Yes you can. Just set it in TE and off you go.

...as long as your speedometer is working (used as a good indication that your VSS is working), Launch Control will work

A friend of mine has a working speedo in his CRX, but his VSS is messed up and throws a code from time to time. Launch control does badness to his car (rev limit kicks in sometimes while moving, other times it never kicks in, etc.).

Ew... OK.. wel, lets change that then:

99% of the time, if your speedo is working, so will Launch Control.

Yes this same thing happens in my hatch. I swapped clusters at one time and never installed that little electronic box on the back of the cluster (which I beleive is some sort of signal intensifier for the ecu) and I get a VSS code. I'm just too lazy to find a used cluster with that box or get the right cluster :P
