Default No TurboEdit for pr3?

Im new to engine management and read the FAQs...I learned that there is no TE for pr3 and pw0 ecu's. Is this still true? Ive got a pr3 b16a.
When people convert from obd-0 to obd-1, do you have to change the dizzy as well as the ecu? Thanks

Stock PR3 BIN files open and can be edited in TurboEdit

There are none with any features tho.

I think BRE and Crome both open PR3 Bins tho...check them out.

Yes you have to change the distributor and ECU to convert up to OBD1 as well as get a conversion harness.

What do you mean that there are no 'features'? Do the other editing programs you mentioned have these 'features'? Basically what editing options am I missing out on by having the pr3 (vs. a non-vtec such as pm6)? Thanks, sorry this is so n00b.

the code in the Stock Pr3 program is exactly that, stock. There may be an easy way to disable the speed limiter lets say, but all other functionality remains stock.

The PGMFI code for the non-vtec ECUs has expanded boost maps, Full Throttle Launch, rev limit changes, speed limiter disable and a few other features. This is highly modified code.

I'm not sure about Crome or BRE and if those ROMs offer any extra features...

In order to make a b16 basemap...you have to think a little. There is only one map...no high or low cam maps (yet).

Take below where you are going to have VTEC activated (either by RPM switch or lets say a VAFC. Splice in the LOW cam maps below this rpm level for ALL load spots (verticle columns). Next splice in the HIGH cam maps from a stock PR3 bin file above where your VTEC will be activated. VIOLA!

Get it?

ok, you have in your left hand the base maps from the pr3, you have in your right hand the pm6 editable maps for boost and all the other hot ----. you find your vtec activation point, for this example it will be 5k rpm. on the pr3 maps there are 2 fuel maps and 2 timing maps due to vtec (as opposed to 1 fuel and 1 timing for non vtec). look at the low cam maps for below 5k rpm in the pr3 file on your left hand, copy the fuel values from that map in your left hand into the boxes for fuel values below 5k rpm in your right hand. do the same for ignition below 5k rpm. now switch over to your high cam maps on your pr3 file in your left hand. copy the values from 5k and above from those ones in your left hand and paste them into the boxes for 5k and above in your right hand.

if that doesn't work for you then ---- it, I give up for now, come back tomarrow and I might draw you some picture in paint.
