New Crome Release 1.1.8R2
Well, they released a new version of Crome, which was good cause I couldnt get the previous one to work with my ostrich on my laptop (worked fine with my desktop *shrug*)
Looks to have some new advanced features, like IAT correction adjustment and such.
Things I've noticed so far.
Uploaded my 1.1.7 tune for my car into the ostrich using 1.1.8r2, and the car ran like ----. Literally the same exact file thats on my sst chip loaded to the ostrich...weird
Othe thing I noticed was that when you open a file created in 1.1.7, you cannot get to the options screen where you set idle, rev limit, speed limit, etc... just gives some pop up. Actually I just checked a different 1.1.7 file, and it works fine, its only happening with that specific file on my laptop, odd.
Anyone else notice anything?

i've been using it for almost 3 weeks since the day it came out, i haven't had any problems like that, maybe your file got corrupted somehow. anyways, if you think the iat correction is nice, install the 'advanced tables' plug in

im gonna buy the pro license here very soon, got my ostrich in yesterday and i want that spiffy map trace function.
question, with the datalogging capability, can the ostrich do all the work there, or do you still need a datalogging cable?

Re: New Crome Release 1.1.8R2
I loaded my old bin into 1.8 last week and everything seemed the same. A/F's were dead on.
I did however experience the: Tune a car on the Osterich, burn to a 27sf-whatever chip and the A/F's were different (like huge part throttle lean action). I reburned to a 29c256 and it was golden. Didnt check it out to see if it was just a bad burn, but usually a bad burn = solid cel.
My favorite features on 1.8 is the ability to define datalog/no-datalog via gear, tps, and even preselected map areas.
The ECT, IAT functions dont appear to be working yet, but as always, it will only get better.
CROME is really coming along, well worth the $150 for the pro version. It has always proved to be VERY stable on my laptop.

Weird Leed...
IAT, ECT work great for me
I too had the tune with Ostrich, burn to chip lean thing happen once...never tried burning to Amtel vs SST though. I also wonder if using Crome to burn directly to the BURN1 from the software would solve that? I dunno...hasnt come up again.
Fookie, my tunes stayed exactly the same from the old to the new, saw 0 differences in AFRs.
Logging rocks in Crome, hands down...the ability to select your tuning parameters is awesome.
And any old plugins you had installed, you need to reinstall them before you can use them in the new version...

I spent some time with both the IAT and ECT trims tonight, and holy hot jesus, the ---- works! I was able to see immediate results in the A/F when changing values.
This is the one thing I have been waiting for. Crazy rich cold idle is a thing of the past
Was also able to take care of my lean idle condition after the IM has heat soaked.
My only last wish is to be able to edit the temp. break points; but you wont hear me complaining.
The other thing I was excited about was the individual cylinder trim. (#3 plug is always a shade lighter than the rest of the plugs, and thats the hole that I always taco ringlands in). I played with many diff. values and even some very extreme changes and could not note any A/F diff. or any changes in carbon build up on some fresh plugs. I would hazard to guess there is a load variable involved. Perhaps it is not active during idle/low load conditions. Ill give it a shot at higher loads/boost this weekend.

basically you can factor in the temperature of the air you're taking in into your tune.
