the one i use is an old compaq presario with 500mhz, 84mb of ram and has a 10 GB hard drive that i partitioned so that the OS is one it's own section and my tuning ---- is on the rest. don't really know remember why i did that but it works great how it is soi figured why change it. i had one just like it but it only had a 5gb HD and was runnign 2000 server that i just sold for 200.

if figured it out that if its only datalogging what ur doing even a stinky *** laptop with 166mhz cpu and 32 mb should do it since serial communications peak at whopping 14kb/s :P

I first used a Fujitsu 233MHz with 64MB RAM and logged with uberdata and used the ostrich. The datalogging seemed slower than uber's usual 4 per second, but it worked none the less. I got only 4 per second logging with uber on my 3.2 GHz 512MB laptop, so uber is slow anyway.
Also the battery was completely dead, but I have a little power inverter hard-wired to the battery that chills in my glovebox
