Kevin, this wasn't Cray, but it was someone on hmt that I didn't want to throw the name out because the "bash any and all competition" rule is in full effect it seems. I'm just trying to learn about this ---- just like you did before you became god.

ok, it was me. I didn't remember vtach and all that type r stuff.
most of those basemaps that you get when you dl uber really suck, I just downloaded other ones from different places and my car started, so I guess I'm a winner.

Stevemode just use my 1.66 maps to use for a basemap. Then insert the values into 1.7 or 1.8 and retune. My map is dyno tuned. It will distort in 1.7 but you can just retune. Its on Chris's site. http://www.-------------/bins/index.p...&order=rating&

Yeah, I will probably use your tune because it's just too easy not too, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't learn all I can to understand what's done to my car and how to change it if needed. That's why I'm here.
But really, if I opened the gsr and didn't use the hi maps, would it really make that much of a difference? I would disable vtec and tune on the low maps. Same as the ls would, huh?

I believe its all gravy...but when it comes to ECUs, you MUST know what you are doing. Thats why there are those of us who are still around...and those of us who aren't. (Or those who gave up for one reason or another)
To all those out there learning from this thread...unless you are planning to learn what it takes to do your own chipping and tuning...make sure you choose someone who is going to help you out before, during and AFTER when sending out your ECU them please.
