Default integrated control box

Well I am going to use a wiring harness out of a 93 integra, in my race car. So I am going to hack out every thing I don't need. The alternator gets controled off the integrated control box. Is this true?? I think that is the only thing I need off the stupid control box. Is there anyone out there that knows anything about this, it's the only thing I really don't know about.
What happened to the good old one wire hook up.
