Default idle problem with crome

ok i know this has been discussed many times before probably but my search option doesnt work for some reason so ill just post my problem quickly. iv got an ls vtec

itr cams
gsr pistons
b16 head

the p72 rom loaded in crome doesnt work worth a damn, neither does the p30, so i was fored to look for a p73 dump. xenocron had one on his page so im using that for the moment. it works good, its powerfull and smooth. the only problem im having is with the idle. id like it to be about 7-800, and sometime it is. but when i go out for a drive and come to a complete stop, it bounces from 1000 - 1200 forever unless i tap the gas, then it will bounce always 3 times and then settle at 800. whats going on here? can someone help? thanks

FITV or IACV are probably sticking.

The IACV is just bolted to the back of the intake...remove the 2 bolts and spray some cleaner in there and watch the black gunk pour out. They tend to stick if they've been sitting awhile, especially after a build. Best way to tell if it's that is let the car warm up, jump the service connector and disconnect the IACV. If the idle drops to normal and doesn't fluctuate it's probably sticking. The FITV is right under your throttle body, although that one doesn't have any wires attached to it...it's more of a mechanical means. You can try taking the 2 screws off the cover and see if the screw inside is a little loose. Tighten it down if you can (just be gentle), that may help too.

Hell, I use brake clean to clean them out...shouldn't hurt anything. What happens is they suck all that gunked up oil that magicly makes its way into your intake manifold. Under regular use they're ok, but once they sit that oil pretty much turns to sludge. Just spray it in the 2 ports that connect to the intake. Trying to spray into the coolant lines is useless because it just loops around and the coolant makes sure nothing gets clogged in there.

i had the same problem with that rom in crome V1.0 once i scaled it for my 450s similar setup to you. i rescaled it in V2.0 on a different comp and problems went away. thats after i changed TBs and cleaned the snesors twice with no effect/checked vaccum. try a couple posts or pages down from you. i think theres a bug in that rom or somthing because now the car runs fine.
