We turned vtec off with the hondata and chipped ecu. so you are right, low cam all the time. so really you mean,
Lack of vtec=low cam all the time= lean motor? not trying to be a dick i just need to be informed.

Why would whoever bought your motor switch the solenoid if vtec was disabled?

it was a bad solenoid. I had vtec turned off when it was tuned. so the maps where still correct. vtec was disabled with the hondata and tune not disabled mechanically.

Just so you know the tuner didnt tune the vtec cam side has the car never went into vtec making it impossible to do so. Make sense. How do you tune vtec when the car will never engage it.
So when the dude got vtec working he proably had stock p28 timing,fuel in vtechhhhhhhhhhhhh. Hence the rod ownage yo.
Vtec is like tiiite complex yo and needs like fuel because that extra vroom be like air and such that make me pee pee hard
