Why? How does it work better with single cams?

Yes, it will work pefectly with your swap. It's not really "meant" for SOHC, but is commonly used with the SOHC because that is the engine type that the ECU came with. However, since GhD only runs on NON-VTec ECUs, you'll be using something external to activate VTec, right?

So, think about it like this.. Your external VTec activation switch, be it a cheap RPM activated switch, or a V-AFC of some sort, it's not going to be speed dependent like your VTec ECUs are. They are only RPM based. So, no matter how fast you're going, when you hit your specified cross over RPM, VTec will engage. Why is this information important to people running GhD?

Because with this, you can map non-VTec values below your crossover point, and VTec values above. Set your cold rev limit to 100 RPMs below your VTec crossover (as to not hit VTec while your engine is cold), and from your crossover and above, get base maps of the the ECU's high cam of the engine you dropped into your car.

Wa-la.. VTec on a SOHC based ECU, fully tunable with GhD.

This is some good ----, I was planning on going zdyne but now that ghettodyne supports boost I may have to try that instead, I was just waiting for some ginea pigs before me. One quick question, I have a mac, so I'm going to buy some cheap laptop and all the burning software...but to work on the tune, you have to take the chip out of the ecu

Ya, unless you have a Windows Emulator tucked somewhere neatly in your MacOS, you'll need a x86 based PC.

As for your other question, yes, the EEPROM has to be removed for reprogramming.
