Default getting uberdata, still need colder plugs?

hi, if i'm getting uberdata and i already retard my timing do i still need to get colder plugs? right now i have the ngk iridiums zfr5fix-11 for a d16z6 it works great but i haven't boosted yet......should in about a week when i get my hf adapter and my oil lines, thanks!

If you are using uberdata, set your static timing back to stock. Let the program do it's job. And, yes, it is a good idea to run colder plugs regardless of what tuning method you use. You are introducing higher combustion chamber temps.

I am using the stock plugs at the stock gap setting in my car. I just pulled them after about 500 miles and they are blacker than sanford and son, so I am running a little rich. They seem to be working fine though, but I might try 1 step colder plugs anyways for ***** and giggles.

good god hahha. it cant hurt to get the colder plugs, whats it gonna cost- 10 bucks at most for 4 ngk's from napa??

I just asked cause i put down like 24 bucks for NGK iridiums at heat range 5.......i bought it a month ago and now i decided to go turbo.....oh well....lol can't return them anymore. thanks for the info

Just use the regular NGK v-power plugs that are 2-3 bucks. Then pick what heat range and gap you want.
