FMU + FPR Question
ive got FMU 12:1 + missing link + T3
comming up: IC, charge pipes external WG @ 6psi, oil shizzle. Do i need a FPR? or is a better fuelpump good enough? (dunno what fuel pump) 2nd Q what happends if i have a fuelpump supplies more fuel, do i run rich @ no boost? thanx |
Re: FMU + FPR Question
with a bigger fuel pump your gonna run just a little rich at no boost but not too rich. you should ditch the fmu and get a vafc and dsm 450s

if he's gonna spend any xtra money on anything it should be a chipped ecu. |
Re: FMU + FPR Question
ive already got the fmu + missing link for cheapy 180 euro (netherlands) lucky me
chipping is about 500+ euro so no option for me. if i could chip my self i would, but pmgfi.org is to complicated for me. so im sticking with the stupid FMU, is it really needed to have a bigger fuel pump? howmuch does the stock pumps? howmuch do i need? what about another fpr? not needed? Re: FMU + FPR Question
Yes a bigger fuel pump will probably be needed to supply the high pressure that the fmu will be creating. And no, you will not need a separate fpr. Your fmu is an fpr, just one that is dependent upon boost.

man it cost about 90 tops and with a chipped ecu u dont need to upgrade ur fpr or fuel pump. just the injectors which u could prolly have enough money if u sell what u have. |
Re: FMU + FPR Question
yeah tuning in the netherlands sux bigtime, 1st of all there is no lots of tuning, its kinda starting here, most of the ppl have k&n filters an nice muflers, and thats it or some light weight flywheels or in some exceptions preformance cams, chippin is so damn expensive. damn 90 bux, what do they dow ? ill give you 150 if you come over here and chip my ecu :) its probably only a base map? or dyno tuned? 1 dyno run is abou 45 bux or unlimited for 1 hour 200 orso. and then the crap begins..
back ontopic. so ill be needing a fuelpump. what would yall recommend? heres my setup D16z2 T3 12psi FMU 12:1 missing link IC charge pipes Oil stuff equal length manifold (gonna design 1 my self) ill post pix when im starting this. ext wg @ 6psi or less 98 octane fuel what kind of a fuel pump do i need? can i buy it @ my local honda dealer/store like a interga pump? or a crv pump? or just an aftermarket? thanx for the replies |

Re: FMU + FPR Question
the internal wg is set @ 12 psi and that is to much boost 4me.
so im using an external wg @ 6psi max.. this is because the internal wg is not adjustable, + i have more faith in an external wg + it looks nice mayB chippin'is a better option afther all. but running on a basemap, is still crappy, and probably i can figuer it out my self to put a basemap on my ecu with an eprom. running on a basemap still isnt the best there is. ill probably chip my next car/ecu when im going to buy a newer car. i have an spare ECU from a CRX 88 PM7-B020. i never triend using it in my civic 1.6 SOHC D16z2, it probably fit or go well. this ecu is hard to chip. and that sux. i do have software to make the binfiles and stuff. but i dont have a burner and a dyno, and no WB O2 sensor an cables to the laptop. ill buy a fuelpump. whats the difference between an inline pump and a fuel pump? (my english isnt that good) what fuelpump is recommend? |
