FIXED --- another ostrich not detected thread turboedit 2.6.1 ostrich 2.0
Ok, I'm getting pissed!!! I follow the USBDRV.zip exactly and nothing. I got the updated driver and put the setting according to USBDRV.zip and nothing. I messed with multipules of different combinations with com ports and baud rate speeds for like 2 hours yesterday. I tryed to install the udated firmware as said on this link http://www.moates.net/documentation....entation_id=22
as you can see theres no programs for ostrisch. I downloaded the 2.13.a and its says that the software isn't supported with this hardware

how is ostrich supposed to be hooked up for you can detect it in turbo edit? The ribbon cable doesnt have to be in the chip socket in the ecu?? just the ostrich connected to a computer via usb right?

try downloading tunerpro rt and see if its detected in there, thats what craig moates instructed me to do and after It still couldnt be detected I sent it back, he sent me another one and it worked flawlessly

I was told by customer support that
"Many prorgrams have yet to be updated to support the Ostrich 2.0. Since you are not the first persono have this problem, I will request Craig to release a firmware version that is compatible with the Ostrich 1.0. The only difference is the version number outputted by the Ostrich." and that hopefully it'll be out next week..........

i had this same ------- problem, i think what i ended up doing was manually installing the driver.
so when you plug in the usb cable (with the other end in the ostrich obviously, ribbon cable doesn't matter) does windows detect new hardware? if not then try manually installing with the add hardware wizard via control panel, make sure you have the moates disk in the drive and browse to it for the correct driver, if it still doesn't detect it your fucked.
just kidding, lol.
you can either downgrading the firmware or installing a program that will tell you which driver you need, actually i think thats what i did, but its been a year or so since i have needed to mess with it so i don't remember. also if your machine does recognize that it found the new device when you plug in the usb cable then its not a driver issue, make sure to open the device manager to see what port it has been assigned to and that this matched turbo edit because everytime you plug it in windows reassigns the usb device to a different port.

when I plug it in to my computer it detects it. I've plugged it in and modified the com ports in device driver and quadrupal checked that TE and device driver have the same com ports.......
Is anybody running 2.0 w/ TE

um, ok then have you tried downgrading your firmware version to the older one? found this from moates website:
"If your Ostrich won't communicate with your old software, you can 'downgrade' the firmware to 10.10.O until the software folks get their act together. Allows Ostrich to boot up at 115.2k baud."
its from the link you posted in originally, other than that turbo edit could be ------- with you, it does that, theres few different versions floating around and i have found that certain features don't work and such, using 2.6.1 currently as well, just don't get fed up.
