Post Finished with a LCD Boost / K-Type Temp & Turbo Speed Gauge

We just finished a gauge that we have been working on for a year now. It has an 3.5" 65K color TFT display with full animation. We put the Freescale 36 psi boost sensor in a remote pod along with a K-Type Thermocouple input.

Borg Warner thought it was cool and hooked up with us early on and had us put a speed input for their EFR turbos so you can read in turbo speed (we call that the SBT config for speed/boost and temp).

I shot a youtube vid of me doing a drag pass and making the mistake of hotrodding in my own neighborhood. Lucky I didn't end up dead since I was screwing with the gauge and driving and filming. Stock BMW 535 twin turbo test mule - although it runs pretty fast when it isn't blown up on the side of the road. What you can't see due to motion blur is a deer on the side of the road wondering what the hell I'm doing. Lucky for him he didn't decide to cross (but the movie would have been more exciting).

My buddy and I are in the process of spec'ing out a new version for next year with a new pod that will add some control features. We figure a Gauge / Boost Controller / Turbo Timer will be a good combo unit. We would also have a single K-type thermocouple and a Borg Warner speed input. Questions are - should we add a wide band EGO input? You can datalog to a uSD card pretty easy with the gauge so that would give you Speed, Boost, Temp, WB-EGO setup for ~500 range... Sound interesting? Does anyone still use turbo timers? How much tune-ability do people want to see in a turbo controller?

Is a K-Type Thermocouple the best way to go for exhaust - or would an RTD input be better for intake temp?

Would two RTD's be better for measuring intercooler efficiency (or is that a 'who cares'? Two K-Type's are a possibility too since they could measure intake temp as well...

The number of inputs gets out of control if you try and do everything so we are trying to hit what most people want...
