field sfc-v,390cc injectors......10psi?..(answer inside)
Well the miths and questions about the Field have been floating around this forum for a while. The main questions have been: will it work becouse it will only lower the map value -30%?How much PSI can I run? Will I get a CEL
Well I decided to put this setup to the test.I adjusted my wastegate to 10psi and crossed my fingers..........................
....I got no CEL!No detonation was noted either(my car is pretty quiet,I have the stock muffler).I did multiple passes up and down the street and did a couple of block long brun outs till my charge pipe blew off the compressor...twice :P
The point is that a Fields sfc-v can be had used for about $50-$75 bucks. It will work perfect with DSM 390cc injectors. Its the perfect setup for you guys on a strick budjet.---- at this point I dont think Im even going to hook up my Apex v-afc for now.Im just going to run this till something breaks.
Give me a few more months and well see if it will do 12psi

that's hot ---- to know, I installed a fields on my brother's civic last summer, and just 2 days ago I installed a vafc on my friend's prelude, I think they are both the same difficulty level, it's just reading instructions, cutting wires, and splicing wires. I used those piece of ---- crimp connectors since that's all I had on the fields and I soldered for the vafc, I'd recommend soldering because it's easier to do, stronger connection, and it looks better.

I agree about the connection Kyle.I used male/female connectors and they used to come apart. Now I just heat shrinked all of them.
I think the Fields is easier to install though. The dip switches on back make it easier IMO.It also has less wires. No need to ---- around with 2 ground wires and its way more user friendly.Plus it hides easier.I put mine in my left vent(right next to my guage cluster). It fits perfectly.

Nawwwwww dawwwwwg. It wont work with 450s.At idle its just a little rich(about 8% or so) with the 390s.Not too bad.It just sounds like I got a rcazy cam :P.
At idle wit the 450s it would be like 15% to rich. Not good.

the 2 power wires and 2 grounds wires were a real pain in the *** on the vafc, I couldn't get the heat shrink around the huge glob of solder, but other than that the difficulty level is very close. it actually took me longer to do the fields because I was working with terrible wire cutters, I was using crimp connections, and it was on a hotter day so my hands were sweatier and I had a harder time holding the wires.
