Default Re: Engine management on PJ0/Vac advance?

I cut off the top of a spare(trashed) distributor and made an adapter plate between the stock base and the F22 distributor. I used the stock distributor shaft and cut it to the proper length and welded two washers on top and cut the offset notch in it to go between the cam and the f22 distributor. I ghetto balanced it by sticking it in a drill and using a file to knock down all the high spots until it hit evenly all the way around. I also used the bearing out of the old distributor to brace the shaft in the middle since it was easy enough to do. I had to cut off one leg on the F22 distributor to clear the thermostat housing. I lined every thing up using the tdc marks on the bottoms of the distributors, and tested it on a spare head had in the garage. I also had to get an 90deg bend and a coupler to add to the upper radiator hose to clear the distributor.

Here are some pics from when i was making it. The steel plate started out as a 7" x 7" piece of 1/4" thick and was trimed pretty much how the sharpie line is.

You can also do it the way guaynabo89 did and cut the legs off and mark the positions you need them rewelded on the distributor body and take it to some one to weld them back on where you need them, I think it took him two tries to get it centered exactly where he needed it.

As for the wiring you just have to get some shielded wire(I picked some up from home depot that was meant for home alarms) and run two wires to the new distributor, and another four(if you don't use the stock o2 wire) to the o2 sensor. I have a ------ sheet some where that has the whole pin out for the 86-87 to a p75 ecu, from when i repined a obd0 to obd1 harness. I can email it to you if you want it.
