Engine management on PJ0/Vac advance?

I've been through PGMFI.org forums and the wiki, but there's not really any help there.

There's no way to read the stock ECU in real time, and even if I could find a way to figure out what all the code on the rom means, there's no way to change things except trial and error due to lack of real time monitoring. I could convert to OBD1 and run Crome/Turboedit on a PM6, but that entails hacking up a 90-93 Accord distributor to get it to mount to the A20 head. Either that or megasquirt, and I don't feel like having that much downtime wiring it all into the car.

Do I have any other choices, other than FMU and hope the dizzy advance doesn't make my engine ping itself to death?

boost will un-advance what the vacuum advanced in the distributor. it's kinda like a plus, if you can get the dizzy to retard extra for boost over what the advance total amount is, you just need to keep the ecu thinking it's got no boost

Oh man, I didn't even think of that. Well, let's say I figure out how to get around the timing problem completely, is there any way to control fuel well (other than FMU) that would be reliable?

Anyone else care to chip in?

Just go OBD 1 its not that hard. I did it all in my garage with no special tools. The A20 runs well enough NA off of the P75 map to not have to worry about having the exact tune from the pjo ecu. The Obd 1 swap also cleans up the engine bay.

How did you end up modifying the F22 distrubutor to bolt up to the A20 head? And do you happen to have a pinout of what pins exactly need to be switched from a OBD0-OBD1 jumper harness to get things to work right? If it truly is easy enough I might as well.
