Default ECU question

I've just started getting into serious engine management and like i really need to i'm doing all the research i can. I have a question to ask if it's ok. I read about all these ecus chipped for management, and i am a little confused. Is there something out there built for turbo cars that the ecu will adjust itself for everything and require no tuning or dyno. That's what it sounds like to me when i read the descripitions on products.

No...no ECU will tune itself. Many of the higher end standalones have 'auto-tune' but you still need a computer (laptop) hooked to the ECU to make the auto-tunable changes.

Chris said most everything there is.

I would suggest reading up a little more.
