Default ECU Control USB Cable drivers Not working

So I have the Nokia USB Cable attached & I have a Laptop and I plug in the cable, windows asks for the drivers for it and I point it to the Win9X[me=MNCRXSi]directory and it says it can't find the drivers. So I point it to the XP directory (btw: there is nothing in the Win2K directory) and it installs a driver but it always has the ! next to it in Windows Device Manager. What am I doing wrong?? Why won't it accept the Windows 98 driver[/me]

Pplease help! THanks!!!!

did you try the method from the installation guide

Most of the time, those stupid USB devices need NOT to be plugged in before the setup is ran.

"USB CABLE DRIVER 3.0
Usb Installation Guide
1. Uninstall Old 2303 USB Driver
2. DO NOT plug in the cable.
3. Run the Setup file.
4. Restart the computer after the driver is installed.
5. Plug in the cable.

I agree that Win98/SE suck for USB but its a Intel Celeron 300, I don't know if I want to run Win2K on it.
Anywho, I think I got the drivers to work right, and I got it to go into COM1 (After changing some stuff around) But ECUControl still doesn't display anything....

you can run win2k on it, I have one like that right now. just dont install the "express" service pack 2. youll be fine. if your performance is too slow you can always adjust some of your "purtyness" settings.

OK guys when running ECUControl 4 on the system, I connect and when I click on READ ADDRESS on the Numerical tab it says things like FAA.

Does that help? Also I tryed using 5.0 with my NG48 chip and same thing.

OK guys over the weekend I installed Win2K on my laptop (and it does run half way decent, it does have 192 mb ram!) and it still isn't working, but I figured I'd do a screen shot for you guys so you guys can see whats going on.
Lets hope we-todd-did-racnig is going to work out for me here.
Sorry about the size!!!
