ECtune

anyone use it? i just found out about it on H-T, (i know, h-t=gay). i went to the ectune site, but can't find where to actually get the program.
i like the fact that there is a boost controller, and a ingnition cut too.
xenocron was listed in there tuner area, but nothing is on his site about it. (least that i could find). xeno whats up with this?

Re: ECtune

its only been released to a few testers, we all have to wait for the official release

Re: ECtune

I'm waiting for it to. I have a few questions though and Calvins not really saying to much yet. We'll just have to wait.

Re: ECtune

so its safe to assume that it won't be free?

HMTdmc 04-13-2007 12:59 AM

Re: ECtune

Calvin hasn't said. But probably not the full version websites not finished yet but it looks like it has a link to download a free datalogger.. It's awesome what Ive seen so far. It's a tuning tool not a rom editor.

Re: ECtune

It will not be free, Calvin is working on the licensing program...it is going to be fair for everyone (DIYers and Commercial Tooners alike).

Its fawkin HOT...this program will make you cream in your pants...nuff said.

Re: ECtune

After 3 cars on eCtune I am done with Neptune, Crome, Neptune and Hondata S200/S300. The end.
Ohio / Kentucky / Indiana are in luck. :)

I think Calvin is planning on releasing a version of eCtune that is "married" to the first Ostrich it talks to for around $99. For the solo tuner, you can't beat that. With the Ostrich2 (with builtin datalogging) on the horizon, tuning options look really promising.

I can't wait to get my hands on this to see what all it has to offer. I've read all that i could about it and it seems that It will be an awsome tuning tool.

[/quote] I live in Covington I went to the last zerolift cruise in and you weren't there. :( .

*L* I’ve been learning to tune on my own and crossed my first milestone tonight. I blew my first motor. Fortunately it was my own and completely my fault.
I can't believe what I did a complete laps in judgment. I was working some bugs out of my car up at my brother in-laws house found the problems the car was running good again so I went ahead and put my boost controller on and it upped the boost from like 4.5 to 8psi Like an idiot I did a pull anyway while watching the wideband I was at 11.5 af the whole time so I thought it was safe to get on it again,

I didn’t really feel good about it but I was caught up in the moment and raced my friends gsr. *L* it blew cylinders 2&3 as I shifted from 2nd to 3rd. I’, so embarrassed I knew better but it’s just an f22.

My new Ostrich from Xenocron should be in this week so as soon as he releases Ectune to the public I’ll be on it. And I won’t repeat the same mistake with my new motor. I was so stupid.

All I have to say is: I can't ------- wait.

I stumbled upon it while cruising PGMFI, so I checked out the site. It looks freaking awesome. :y

Re: ECtune

I dunno now. You won't be able to open or burn a .bin file with the personal version you'll have to keep you ostrich in to run the rom in your car. I'll Just have to see how much they charge for the tuner version. Because without being able to burn a chip I definatly won't pay for it. But I can see their side of it. they don't want a tuner buying the personal version and then making a living with it.

I definitely don't blame Calvin for that at all.

Unfortunately I know a few tuners that do that exact thing. :(

TorganFM 04-18-2007 10:19 AM

Re: ECtune

So with the .cal files Ostrich will definitely be needed? Greeeat I guess it's time to buy an Ostrich. That's $200 more away from being turbo.

Re: ECtune

Guys, don't run out and buy a Ostrich yet... wait for the new one that will be released... it goes inside your ecu... Now the idea of always having a Ostrich there doesnt sound as bad huh? :)

Yeah man an ostrich inside the ecu will work great for a tuning only ecu cut down on wires and clutter in the floorboard.

imburne 05-01-2007 12:01 PM

Re: ECtune

I had mine velcroed to the ecu. Stripped interior so it was nice looking anyways. Didnt have to worry about wires all over the place.

Re: ECtune

i'm sure you could just pay a "tuner" to burn a chip for you, right?

Blundar has it. I really wonder why they haven't had you in the loop on this one. It almost makes me wonder if their afraid you'll be honest and the things no differant than any other software.

No, blundar is always honest as well.

I'm somewhere in the loop, but I get the general feeling that Calvin is hugely, insanely busy. I'm still in the waiting stages.

Good I pretty much know blundar is honest. But I see more of JD on the Interweb I need to buy Dave lunch or something so he'll let me hangout with him while he tunes.

Really? How come I've been doing all of Blundar's tranny work?

Now if you mean just tuning, I'm NOWHERE near them, but we each have our own area of expertise.

But I'd like to see of them set up the jetting on a Holley double pumper, or even just set the dwell on a old points dizzy :)
