maybe i didn't see it. can you please make this Nissan compatable.
there is very little tunning wares for RB series engines.
i would like to see more. even if its a plugin.

You are a ------- tard. OBD1 Honda code has nothing to do with anything Nissan. Further, fiddling RB ECUs is about as difficult as SR ECUs - until Nissan started encrypting them in the late 90s its a cakewalk of modular datatables that can be swapped around across engine families and years. Anyone with RB money shouldn't be worried about it as there are a bunch of standalones on the market for a grand that will let you take your car most anywhere for tuning.

Well, eCtune is interesting, to say the very least.

I had a few teething problems which may have been problems with my Thinkpad, which is approaching late middle age as laptops go and it definitely needs the registry cleaned out. Anyway, I could not get datalogs to play back, and if COM ports weren't configured correctly the application likes to crash.

As for how it operates? 15% as difficult as Crome to set up, and depending on how far and where exactly you want to take a tune it is either a lot easier or four times more difficult to use than Crome. There is some pretty advanced ----, it's impressive.

With all of the hidden ignition advance that exists in normal Honduh code, even in Crome, it's amazing how much the engines actually like. I made 344 whp at 11 psi off of 26 degrees of timing on a stock geometry LS/VTEC... which is about what I'd expect off of the parts combo, but the ignition timing the engine liked was interesting, and delineates the difference between what's past and what is to come.

Wow thats wild. My f22 likes the timing around 21 degrees at 9psi.
I'd think an Lsvtec would want less. So Ecutune shows you a lot more features and ways to manipulate the timing advance?

I know a lot of peole were saying they'd get in situations with crome where they can't retard the timing anymore they'll make changes but it wouldn't actually change anything. Ive never ran into that myself yet though.

I think it's some combo of settings and scripts. I am always late to update all that sort of thing, in fact the version of Crome I tune with is a six month old beta whose flash screen says it is 1.1.14, hovering over the .exe reveals it to be 1.2.0.24, and I had it a good month before any 1.2.x.x versions were released. I have never had a problem where I couldn't retard timing, and the people who did experience it had it on every/a couple cars in a row. Connect the dots.

Anyway, on the subject of timing, the engine started wanting 1 deg/psi retard by the time we hit 16 psi (with some boost spiking to 18 in the midrange). *shrug* Not much different than how Y8s behave when you feed them more than 180-190 whp worth of airmass... they go from liking timing to wanting none.

Ever try busting out some jets with gas sloshing down your pants while someone counts (yells) down how few laps are left till you need to be finished? I did that at age 14. I swear the guys I learned from could read plugs before they could read books (sounds like like WI schools suck, but..) I ------- hate carbs, and by that I don't mean candy bars.

I hope eCtune comes out soon. I gave up on Neptune after 12 months of waiting, while a handful of 'stunners' had it for months. So far i've had good luck with crome, and I don't need any crazy crap to deal with. But stuff like gear-based boost control and anti-lag included in the whole package for $99+$175 would be ------- nice. Datalog graphs would be nice too, but something tells my ignorant ass that its somewhere in crome already.

Eh, there's still a bit of work to be done before it's released... but it already does a hell of a lot more than Crome.

so us obd-0 guys are going to have to spend even more money to use ectune?? but if its JD approved i think its going to be worth it..
