Default dumb question about boost

i have never set up any kind of engine manegment excpt a vafc so i hope this doesn't sound to dumb but when you tune a a car for say 10 psi and than decide to up the boost to say 15psi does the ecu need to be retuned or will it automaticly see there is more pressure and add more fuel i was just thinking about it was hoping some one could explain it thanks

You're right, that was a dumb question.

MAF based cars can compensate for added boost, unfourtunately, Honda's are MAP based cars, and like Jon said, need to be tuned for the boost they'll be running.

For anything tunable (ie NOT AFC):

Yes, and no.

1) Does your MAP sensor read 15 psi? If stock, it maxes at 9.25 or 10.65 psi depending on era, and doesn't go any higher.

2) Do you have the injector/fuel pump/fuel line for whtever boost you'll be running?

3) Have you tuned your fuel and ignition maps for 15 psi, or did you just tune them to 10 and them hope the magic box in the passenger floorboard can guess what you need at 15?

If you tune to 15 psi *correctly* then you should have no problems running at 10... if you tune to 10, then you need *further* tuning to hit 15, if this is all on the same MAP sensor + injectors, etc. You need retuning when you change something big (MAP sensor, displacement, injector, etc).
