Do you think it'll be okay to run a fmu at 5.8psi with no fuel pump upgrade?

FMU's aren't that bad for low psi systems, many of the kits use them and they don't run like ----.
Even HMT FAQ has fmu+inline pump as good, and fmu alone as fair. And for a homemade kit, fair is good enough.

It would be a good idea to dig up one of those inline high pressure pumps that came with drag turbo kits etc back in the day. There super easy to install and can be found cheap.I paid $30 CDN for the one I had in my old setup. Im a firm believer in cheap insurance.

Just think about it, an FMU increases your fuel pressure 10-12psi for every pound of boost. So if you're running a base fuel pressure of 45 psi, and 6 psi of boost (which is also irrelevent to how much fuel you need), you're running nutty fuel pressure through a fuel system that wasn't designed for it, and something's gonna fail. I would run max 5-6 psi if I had to use an FMU, and even then I'd rather sell it, buy some DSM 450's and build myself a MAPhack for the same price...
