unless you are plaining on working a lot on electronics and stuff, disoldering braid is your friend.

What is this Hakko? Sounds interesting, got any pictures? Not that I'd be able to afford one but it better be a DAYAM good desoldering tool for 400 bones.

I just picked up a XYTRONIC 968 tonight. I can still do an ECU faster using the sucker and braid but with more practice it will be nice.

I bought a decent sucker for 20 bucks, works great all the time. Just practice, and everything will get neater

A friend of my dad's had what equated to a soldering iron with a hollow tip attached to a vaccum pump. I used it once and it was quite nice; desoldering a 28pin EPROM would take maybe a minute from start to having it out.

I wish i could find me a cheap one of those

This is what I use. Works good but tip is too large for ECU work. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...342654862&rd=1
