Radio Shack has been replaced be The Source(AKA Circuit City) And they have solder and Irons in, but no braid. The "New Product Line Up" really has nothing that I can use. And it's easier for me to order from McmasterCarr then drive the 1/2hr to 1hr to get some seeing I order almost weekly from them.

I have one of those pumps, never liked it though, Maybe I'll re-try it.

No complaints on this one. Works a lot faster than the two handed ones.

Hate the pump. Either braid or a real desoldering machine!

The solder sucker I made out of a straw, fill neck off of a cheap gallon gas tank, and a vacuum cleaner works miracles. I was able to desolder the chip on my PM6 in under a minute, and I'm not bullshiting you. I simply duct taped a straw to the gas fill neck, and then duct taped that to my vacuum. Then I put the ECU in a vise and went to town on it.

That's my idea, only modifying the red pump pictured above, with a smaller air pump than a vaccum, and less ghetto.

i even tried that with the red bulb one. cut the end of the ball and duct taped it to my vacuum but it still was shitty. maybe i can try again and see if it will work any better now.
