------- gay!

I dunno what the ---- is going on... i use the older version of Crome with ostrich and at the first try is starts right up, but any change i make to the map and 'put' dosn't do anything at all. So... basicly i'm back to square one.

man, i don't know honestly. i never updated my firmware at all and i got my ostrich like back in november i believe. there was an issue with the first version of ud that supported ostrich. blake had put something in there that would only allow you to use one version of firmware for the ostrich, but i never used that version of uber anyways, so as far as i know, every other version of uber and crome will recognize any version of firmware. so you can actually connect right now with crome 1.1.0, and then try to connect with 1.1.6 and get nothing? and you're sure that all of the settings that you have in 1.1.0 are identical to the settings in 1.1.6? if so, i'm stumped man. try uninstalling 1.1.6 and then reinstalling it. i'm not sure when you downloaded it, but i believe right after john released it, he released a better one with some fixes a couple days later.

well it looks like i'm gonna be trying out Uber1.91. So far everything works like its supposed to.

Hopefully this works out for me, i'm soo sick and tired of trouble shooting and not actually getting to tune.

I think the problem is our firmware. I think if we put it back to where it was, UN update it. I think we can get it to work with crome. I will try it some day.

i'm haveing the same problem with crome and ostrich right now. gues it's kind of a coincedence i seen this topic. i had crome 1.0 installed and it worked and just updated to 1.1.6 and it doesn't work so i'm pretty sure it is the crome version. maybe post somethign on pgmfi and see if jon has anything to say about it. he seems pretty good about replying to problems with software.

My Ost. worked out of the box, but is a little ---- with my laptop when first connecting.
Procedure that works 100% for me:
Start CROME and go to settings/RTP programming tab
Plug in Ost. and Dlog cable. Make sure they appear in the windows hardware manager.
Press the CROME 'test' button. It will never connect the first try.
Unplug both cables and replug.
Press the CROME 'test' button again, and it works.
Smooth sailing from there.

shitty.

i got my ostrich to work by just unplugging and replugging it in and testing and swapping com port numbers. 2 seems to work, don't know hwy that would work and 4 and 5 wouldn't but it works and thats all that matters.
