Default The cheapest management for my setup?

Hello all! I am new to this board and i am finding tons of information on turbo projects here. I am very confused when it comes to all these Engine Management devices.

I have a 89 CRX SI with a ZC engine and a integra ecu. I'm currently am working on getting all the turbo parts togethor.

What i have:
14b turbo from a Laser
Small front mount intercooler from a Laser.

My next main focus is to figure out how to manage this setup. I really just want to run about 7-8psi. The cheaper the better for me. I don't need any fancy stuff like a apexi S-AFC. Please let me know?

Thanks,

Tim

FMU and fuel pump with your stock injectors if you want to keep it cheap should work if your only going to be boosting about 7 psi. If you decide to boost higher you might want to look into getting a AFC hack with larger injectors.

Keep reading the forums becuase this topic has been covered quite a bit.

So a FMU is cosidered a FPR on this board even thought it really stands for any fuel unit. Man seems like its made harder than it is. Thanks though.

FMU != FPR. Totally different beasties.

I'm a big fan of the 450cc DSM injectors, MAP limiter, and chipping the ECU for ignition retard, which would cover your car up to 9.25 psi with it's current MAP sensor. Take a look at one of my guinnea pigs here, a write up on the subject here, and the file needed to chip your ECU with is the LS MAPhack 1.0 retard.bin found here.

You need a 90-91 PM6 (Si) or 90-91 PR4 (Integra) ECU, as your current ECU can't be chipped. I also assume you have a chip burner, or the willingness to acquire one ($100 or a touch less). There's a bit of stuff going on here, so if it is at all confusing feel free to ask questions. If you're not getting a good grasp of the subject matter, feel free to go with the FMU/BTM setup, etc, as it all works.
