Car Dead _ECM 0 Code????
Ok i posted on friday that my car had died due to a loose spark plug cable. Turned the car on to leave... heard a ticking noise.. then the car just died... I tried to start it and it would not start. I know its not the fuel pump cause when i try to start it, I can smell the gas out of the exhaust pipe. I figured it was the coil but i had it tested, and it was fine.. now i figure its either the ICM(ignition control module) or something more serious like the ECM or something.
PS. Its a 94EX D16Z6
Now my question. does anyone know how to test the ICM with a test light or something
I hooked up a jumper pin to the diagnostic plug to see if the ECM wasnt throwing out any codes... well this is what happens....
I turn the key forward and the CEL stays on solid, and the SRS light starts blinking on and off.
What do you guys think?
isnt 0 blinks like the ECM Failure code?

It very well may be a bad ECU, has anyone kicked it?
Besides that point, start with your basics, pull the dizzy plugs out from the spark plugs and hold them briefly (make sure your fingersa re on the insulation, and you're not wearing any jewelry or other metal devises, as well as not touching any immediate grounds). Yoou should see a lightning bolt arc from the plug tip to the valve cover. Test each plug this way, and see if you're even getting spark. You can test it at the distributor in a similar fashion, but I think that just gets way to risky with the way you have to hold it.
Check and see if your timing belt has skipped teeth, or is potentially falling off as well.
Is your started engaging? whats the voltage across your battery?
Try a simple reset of the battery and see what happens.

Re:Car Dead _ECM 0 Code????
what car is this? I do believe the cel should come on when you put the key in on to prime the fuel and then go off. its a self check it does. then once its started it will start throwing codes. If the SRS light is flashing it might have something to do w/ the airbag. crappy sensor?
