what happens if you don't add them in while chipping an obd1 ecu?

do you mean nothing as in it wont work or they arent needed?

i have heard that they arent needed, but i always put them in anyway. at least they arent difficult.

They arent needed to work.

They are filtering caps...I have never seen a car that didnt have them in there have any bad reactions but I put them in all of the ECUs I do as well.

Well I know that when honda added chips in there ecus they put them in, but I know some ppl that chip ecus that don't use them and some that do. I was just curious because I don't have any at the moment and was going to leave them out.

The c51 and c52 calls for the .1uf ceramic capacitors rated at 12v, can I use .1uf ceramic caps from radioshack that are rated for 50WVDC in its place in case I did decide to use them
