boost chip q's
allright i have all the stuff for my turbo project here at my house exept for what im going to use to control my ecu. i was panning on goin with the afc hack and call it good, but then i kept reading about the boost chips. sounds a lot less complicated and then i wont have to hack into my wire harness. and we all know the kinds of crazy problems that come with bad wiring!
so anyways heres my set-up.
2nd gen mitsu t-25,
std. manifold,
450cc injectors,
tyrus intercooler,
blitz blow-off
walbro 255 pump
pg7 ecu
all of this is on a zc motor in an 89 4dr
1st can i chip a pg7 (88-89 teg) ecu or do i need an si ecu
2nd do i need to do anything else besides the chip? ie: adj fpr, fmu, afc, btm, any of these or non of these? i just want to know bottom line what else i need besides a chip or if i just need the chip.
and third i want to run 8-9 psi daily and then drop the exhaust at the track and run race gas to achieve 10-11 psi, will the chip work with this as well?
maybe we need a sticky about the chip option like we do with the afc hack? seems like its getting more popular. anyways thanxz for the help..

1: you can chip a 88-89 teg ECU, but it is quite a pain in the *** compared to a 90-91 PM6 (si) or 90-91 PR4 (LS teg). If you want to figure out how, look in the OBD0 forum of PGMFI.
2: You need a chip and a set of big injectors, and some time tuning it.
2.5: You probably would want to make up two chips - tune one for 8-9psi on 93 octane pump gas. You could do the same for race gas, or just mimic the 8-9psi tune and advance timing SLIGHTLY to compensate.
