Re: Solid CEL

Check EVERYTHING spark related...

Plugs, wires, cap rotor...replace what you need to.

Re: Solid CEL

Plugs were replaced by the tuner of his choice, havent even been in there for a month. Wires are brand new also. Blue NGK's. Im almost positive its with the tune. Im fed up with the afc. Im going with crome.

Re: Solid CEL

its misfiring and you havent even checked the plugs yet?! It doesnt matter if they are 2 days old or 10 years old thats the first thing to look at, at the very least if they are dark just take a SS wire brush and clean them up real good. I have a whole box of bkr7's laying around and change them out almolst every oil change, cheap insurance.

Re: Solid CEL

They dont seem extremly oil fouled just alittle dark and some are wet. I cleaned all of them, I reset the ecu again. Im gunna try to start it up again.

What is the possibility of a bad ringland or valve seal? Not a month ago, I had a compression test of 180psi accross all cylinders.

Re: Solid CEL

Car starts up good with no CEL. Then starts to sputter and the CEL starts to blink again.

Re: Blinking CEL

can you get your hands on a compression tester to check again? and get a spark tester too. (if you dont know how to do the bootleg way)

Re: Blinking CEL

Ok, I've been reading this for a couple days now and I figured I'd throw in my 2 cents.

Flashing CEL means catalyst damaging misfire. first STOP DRIVING THE CAR. second DON'T RUN THE CAR AT ALL IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO.

Now...

Disable fuel so the car will not start. pull your plugs. Get new plugs and gap them to 30ish. Put the plugs back in the end of the wires and put them to ground. Check to see if you are getting spark while cranking. My bet is you won't be getting any from 2 and 4. Next if you get spark, put them back in, enable fuel and run it to see if it was just a gap issue. If you don't have spark from 2 or 4 (or any for that matter) pull the cap and look at the inside of the cap and rotor. There should be NO (ZIP, ZERO, ZILCH, NADA) corrosion inside the cap or rotor, there also should be no oil, moisture, buildup of any kind. if there is REPLACE THEM!

you have already stated that 2 plugs are wet (gas fouled). While this may be caused by the AFC dumping too much fuel, realistically it is due to the plugs not firing and gas just building up inside the cylinder/on the plug.

You need to focus on ignition first in this situation, worry about fueling if ignition checks out.

PM me if you have any questions.
