Re: the bitch lives
I'm working on converting my original 88 dx harness from a modified mpfi harness back into a dpfi harness, I'll let you know how that goes.
update, I got the original harness switched back to dpfi and I still had the same problems I was having before, a total of 5 codes by the time I got to putting the old harness back in: 4 ckp (crank position) sensor, 6 ect (engine coolant temp) sensor, 7 tps, 10 iat (intake air temp), and 13 baro (atmospheric pressure) sensor. I switched out my 88 pm5 for the one I took out of the 90 and it only gives me codes 4 and 10. it's dark here now so I'm probably done ------- with it for the evening, any input would be appreciated. |

Re: the bitch lives
code 10 try switching the iacv and iat plugs with each other
|
Re: the bitch lives
I switched the iat and iacv plugs, they were wrong, but I still get the code 10, we'll see what it says tomorrow.

Re: the bitch lives
After running it switched like that, does the IAT look 'funny', or melted? Ive seen this happen twice. IAT fails outright, and perm. code 10. You have access to another IAT sensor to test with?

Re: the bitch lives
I have a complete intake mani laying around, I'll look at the iat on my car now and see if I need to replace it because code 10 is still there, but I haven't checked with the ecu reset yet.

well reset the ecu foooooooooollllllllll |
Re: the bitch lives
I reset it last night, but I couldn't start the car to check the codes because I have no exhaust and my neighbors probably wouldn't really like to hear my car at 11 when they're trying to sleep. I'll let you know how it turns out when I get home from work today.
update: just started her up and I'm down to codes 4 and 7, still the crank position sensor, and now the tps is back. I checked the voltage from the center pin on the tps with the key on and I get .6 when it's closed and 4.6 when it's all the way open, that should be good, I don't know why I'm getting that code. unfortunately no time to get that other distributor today to see if that will fix the code 4, hopefully tomorrow. |
