apexi v-afc or afk hack?
sup guys, i have a 95 turbo accord v-tec. i just want to know is it worth buying this apexi v-afc around $300. http://www.apexi-usa.com/electronics_vafc.asp right now i'm running missing link, 10:1 fmu with stock fuel pump and stock injetors. i have rc370 injetors, but haven't install the injectors yet. i was told that i don't need the injectors if i boost 9psi. engine is stock with a 8.8 compression from factory. i'm thinking either get the apexi v-afc or do something call a afk hack. i saw alot of post about afk hack, but i'm not sure what does that do. something about trick the map sensor by sending less votage. it would be nice if someone can explain to me about the afc hack. thanx for the help. i try to post pics but no scanner. i will try to buy one soon.

looks like you already made up your mind because i'm pretty sure that the V-AFC and the "afc hack" are the same thing. the Vafc just controls vtec engagement point. don't pay $300 for a vafc or afc because there are some for sale in the classifieds for about $200. well that's how much i got mine for, and it works way better then those pos fmu's. just get a vafc/afc and some injectors and plese throw that fmu away, you won't be disappointed. my car runs so much better since i got mine.

what raises you fuel pressure without the fmu because my pump is a 255 and my stock fuel pressure reg is only 30 to 40 psi. And if you boost dont you need more fuel pressure? orels the fuel will frlow past the injectors back to the tank

well, the stock pump can raise up fuel pressure, but i don't know to how much, i'm getting a new 255 pump anways. thanx for the offer about the v-afc, but i want to get a new one cuz is electronics. dr boost, do u think i should just get the v-afc or should i go afk hack?

Dude, I'm not ******* u out but......... I have never heard of the AFK "hack" before .
You are getting both things mixed up but it really is the same depending on application... shiet... I dont even know how to start explaining this to you but I will try.
I will assume that there is no such thing as an AFK "hack". I think what you meant is AFC "hack". To elaborate what is mentioned above, the AFC "hack" requires either an SAFC (Super Air Flow Converter) or VAFC (VTEC and Air Flow Converter). You will use one of them to manage your fuel by sending "hacked" signals to ECU to prevent CEL/MIL on a MAP code. You can use an AFC in tandem with your FMU set-up but it will not be as effective since the MAP signal is not "real". An FMU set-up requires a missing link check valve inline between the MAP sensor and throttle body. This set-up does not give a correct MAP pressure input to the ECU. Listen to these guys here. They really know their ----........

ye, i do mean afc hack my bad. i'm new at this turbo thing. anyways, i think i'm gonna go with the vafc, cuz i already got an 10:1 fmu, rc 370 injecftors, and missing link. i'm gonna get the vafc from my friend for 150, i don't really want to buy it use but is so cheap. i'm gonna boost 9 psi with my stock engine.
